Durham Detached Home Prices
Tuesday Feb 12th, 2019
What’s happening in the real estate market can be confusing. You may hear snippets of what’s going on in the news but it’s mostly about Toronto specifically and compiles so many broad and general numbers and data points it doesn’t necessarily make sense to you and your situation as a resident of the Durham Region (Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Oshawa, Bowmanville, etc).
Over the next few days I’m going to share a few simple charts on the Durham detached home market to give you the real facts and data. So, if you live in Durham, and own a detached home, you’ll really know where you stand with your greatest asset.
Here’s one to start: Detached Average Prices
The detached home market in Durham had a great run-up to its peak in March 2017 at an average price of $737,709. Since the summer of 2017, we’ve seen prices stabilize quarter over quarter in 2018 until now averaging between $630-670,000. Without a crystal ball, we can’t predict what will happen in 2019, but we can most likely expect more of the same for detached homes in Durham.
